Walrus was an idea that came to me when I saw the shape of the pot that I'd thrown. Whilst the clay is firming up to a workable leather hardness I plan in my mind how I will go about transforming the piece. I'll research online until I understand how details like the eyes, whiskers and tusks and mouth all look on a real walrus and then dedicate several hours to translating the knowledge into the clay form. Glazes are applied to the piece once it's been bisque fired, then it's given a final firing to 1250 degrees to produce the final finish.
