This piece was made for The Solway Quilters' annual challenge, which was to make a quilt journal.

Full description
This textile art wall hanging is called "A Year In Colour". It was made over the course of a year, one panel for each month. Each panel is inspired by a particular place and its colour palette, seen during that month. The twelve panels are joined together to form an overall abstract pattern of loops and lines.
This textile was hand pieced and hand quilted, before being embellished with beads, sequins and buttons.
The individual panels are joined to each other by thread ties. There is a hanging sleeve on the back that could take a slim baton of pine stripwood for hanging. (Please note that this baton is not included, to keep shipping costs down, but can be purchased for a few £s from all good DIY stores.)
The textile was exhibited in the "Hanging By A Thread" exhibition at Gracefield Arts Centre, Dumfries.
The wall hanging measures approx (width x height):-
24 1/8" x 46 1/2"
61.5 cm x 118 cm
I have included images of some of the individual panels to give an idea of what they look like close-up. I will include an A4 sheet that explains from whence the colour palettes were derived.
Many of the fabrics used are re-purposed/recycled textiles.
