I was lucky enough to see red squirrels recently and they are so beautiful that I couldn't resist the challenge of carving and painting something furry rather than feathery!!

Full description
This red squirrel is hand carved from lime, painted with artists acrylics and mounted on a spalted beech panel. It has a glass eye and is sitting on a piece of bark edged driftwood. It has been finished with a coat of wax giving it a soft shine. The panel is 13.5cm wide, 28cm long and 2cm deep max. overall excluding twine hanging loop.
