This particular necklace falls into the category of jewellery I have made using all natural materials. No plastics have been used during the making of this piece and all of the elements are gemstones, natural stones, metals and fibres which are found in nature. The agate gemstone rectangle sections have been dyed yellow, but still show their natural banding and variations in colour.

A maximal geometric necklace in bold yellow and subtle monochrome designed to make a statement. This necklace measures 635 mm or 25" in length and contrasts bold shapes in semi-precious dyed yellow agate and dark grey fossil stone, with delicate sterling silver tracery, tiny zebra coloured shell chips and silver and gold foil lined lamp-work glass. The larger beads are mounted using argentium sterling silver wire, for it's superior strength. For comfort, I have used black 12 mm lava stone beads, produced during volcanic eruptions, for the upper part of the necklace, strung using the traditional technique of knotting strong pure irish linen thread between the spherical and beautifully marked beads. Every aspect of this necklace is a feature of interest. The oval fossil stone beads contain many tiny fossils of ancient shells, their smooth opaque surface a foil for the naturally translucent banded agate which acts as a frame for the sparkling lamp-work bead and silver wire work. I have permanently shut the silver tracery coils for durability by soldering the silver together. Using linen thread rather than the commonly used nylon alternative, creates spectacular drape and strength, whilst ensuring that the necklace has minimal impact on the environment. No need for a clasp, as the length is sufficient to pass easily over the head.
This commanding necklace is carefully packaged in it's own gift box and fastened with a bow.
