This eye shaped pendant has been made out of three different wood species. The white of the eye is made from pale birch, the rich brown iris is rhododendron (yup!) and the pupil is larch, made black as ebony with a homemade dye.

After fitting together and carving out the piece, it was coated in several coats of a special resin to give water and wear resistance before being sanded and polished until very smooth and glossy.

The pendant is about 2cm high by 4cm wide and feels extremely lightweight for its size.

I'm afraid I can't give you customisation options off the peg due to the technical limitations of the platform, so unless you let me know otherwise, the pendant will ship with a 16" sterling silver chain. I don't mind altering the price for you, if you want just the pendant but you'll need to just let me know. Or if instead you'd rather one of my handmade leather cord necklaces cut to any length you wish, then, again, just drop me a wee message.

I'm not sure why but I'lve always just had a thing about an eye as a symbol and one day I just fancied making one out of wood. In those days my workshop was the cupboard under the stairs and I can remember turning round and just seeing the tools I'd need to make my wooden eye plan a reality. The penny had dropped.

It took about 3 or 4 attempts to get the shape right and to work out how to do the black pupil without using ebony as well.
