Full description

These oblong cufflinks feature fordite bezel set in sterling silver and finished off with hand made chain and bar backs. The fordite has a looped pattern in white, emerald green, red, bright blue and black, some of the colours are metallic so sparkle as the light catches them. Fordite is layers of car paint which have been baked hard by being repeatedly passed through the curing ovens, the paint built up as over spray on rails when vehicles were manually sprayed, now thanks to the much more efficient electro spray method fordite is no longer formed. I cut and polished this pair of cabochons myself and the guy I bought the rough from believed it to have come from one of Ford's Kentucky production lines in the 70's - we think one where they were producing trucks due to the amount of white present. these would make an ideal gift for anyone who likes their cars or the more unusual things in life.

The front oblong measures 5/8 inch by 1/2 inch (16mm by 12mm by 3mm) and they are finished with chain and bar fittings (if you would prefer something similar but with swivel backs then drop me a message). Comes gift boxed.
