Full description
This is an unusual and contemporary necklace featuring an asymmetric piece of multi coloured fordite bezel set in sterling silver and continuing the asymmetry it is finished with different silver chains, a double strand of fine chain on one side and a single strand of thicker chain on the other. Fordite is layers of cured car paint that built up in the old spray booths, the material in this piece came from the corvette plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky probably in the early 2000s. It is very colourful with bands of red, yellow, black, blue and silver, some of which are metallic and sparkle when the light catches them. Fordite is no longer formed as changes have been made to how cars are sprayed and stocks of this material are dwindling (it was described as rarer than diamonds in an article a few years ago). Would make a good gift for any lady who loves muscle cars or the unusual.
The fordite measures approx 40mm by 9mm at its widest, the entire necklace is just under 16 inches - it is designed to sit just under the dimple where the collar bones meet. If you would like an extender added then drop me a message.
