My love of creating things using small beads and the way the colours work together in this design.

Full description

This pretty beaded bracelet has been made by hand using the Japanese technique kumihimo.

A mixture of seed beads in greens and blues, that remind me of the colours in beautiful lagoons, have been threaded onto 8 strands of green S-Lon cord and have then been brought together using the above technique.

The cords have been finished with gold plated end caps and the bracelet fastens with a gold plated toggle clasp.

The width of the beaded braid is approximately 7mm (1/4") so is a slightly more delicate bracelet that is an ideal fit for a 16.5cm (6 1/2") wrist.

Kumihimo is Japanese for 'gathered threads' and was first done as a form of finger-loop braiding that has since evolved into a form of braiding that can be done using only cords, or with beads added into each knot.
