Full description
This bright orange bracelet that is perfect for brightening up a dreary day, has been made by hand using the Japanese technique kumihimo.
Two different tones of size 6 orange seed beads have been threaded onto 8 strands of 1mm orange satin cord, that have then been brought together using the above technique to create a spiral pattern.
The seed beads used are matte orange AB and matte silver lined orange, so although this is a bright bracelet, it doesn't have any sparkle or twinkle to it, but more of a glow as the light hits the beads.
The cords have been finished with gold plated end caps and the bracelet is finished with a gold plated toggle clasp with a twisted design.
The width of the beaded braid is approximately 10mm (3/8") so is a chunky style bracelet that is ideal for a 16.5cm (6 1/2") wrist.
Kumihimo is Japanese for 'gathered threads' and was first done as a form of finger-loop braiding that has since evolved into a form of braiding that can be done using only cords, or with beads added into each knot.
