Old Ned is one of Penzance's guise beasts, a giant crow, who appears at many Cornish events wearing greenery, daffodils and jingling bells, accompanied by his teaser.

He is an icon at the May Horns and Montol festivals in Penzance. Along the procession of the May Horns, Old Ned "dies" three times along the way and is returned to life by revellers blowing their May Horns and May Whistles at him. The Horns are sounded all along the route to "drive out the Devil of Winter".
