Welcome to my Folksy shop in which you will find a variety of hand-stitched accessories for you and your home, many of which make lovely (and easy-to-post) gifts. I stitch in a variety of styles, combining traditional embroidery with other textile techniques such as felting, weaving, hand dyeing and silk painting. Vintage linens and fabrics re-stitched into unique gifts and accessories may be found at my second Folksy shop 'LynwoodcraftsRecycled' where you will also find vintage sewing supplies including vintage lace.

A pretty brooch featuring white daisies on a striped background stitched from pastel cottons on blue and white fabric.
A unique background has been created from snippets of cotton thread in pastel colours, stitched in running-stitch stripes on a blue and white striped fabric. Cheerful daisies have been embroidered in white thread, their centres being stitched in a vintage cream thread.
The back of the brooch has been neatened with 'eco' felt and a brooch pin is securely stitched in place.
Height - 5.5 cm approx.
Please note: items from Lynwoodcrafts are intended for adults. This item is unsuitable for children as it contains a sharp pin and small parts may represent a choking hazard to children under 36 months.
Items of embroidered jewellery may not be colourfast - care should be taken to remove them from clothing before washing.
I was considering my untidy pincushion with several needles still threaded with end snippets of the cotton threads I used yesterday. I decided to use them and the background for this brooch was the result. The daisy motif is one which I have stitched many times.
