Sheep! is a multi layer reduction Lino cut print. This simply means that after each colour is inked and printed on the paper some more of the Lino is cut away, until you are left with your final image. For this Lino cut I did this 9 times. this technique is also called a suicide print- there's no going back if you make a mistake.
Due to the numerous hand printed stages there is always some minor variations between each print, making each one slightly different from the rest. This gives you a unique piece. Sheep! is printed with Caligo inks and is printed on Japanese Hos-ho paper, these are artist quality, archival materials.
Sheep! printed size is 10cm x 14cm or 5.5" x4", and comes to you, mounted in an off white mount, and cellophane wrapped. Ready to pop into a readily available 9 x 7 inch frame or give as a gift.
I take great care to make sure that all my prints are posted, well protected and in card envelopes. They are sent swiftly and posted first class.
This print is a limited edition of just 6.
Sheep! looks great with my other print 'Highland Coos' which can be found here...
Inspired by a curious, and rather cheeky sheep, who frankly photobombed an photograph being taken in the Welsh countryside.
