Welcome to my Folksy shop in which you will find a variety of hand-stitched accessories for you and your home, many of which make lovely (and easy-to-post) gifts. I stitch in a variety of styles, combining traditional embroidery with other textile techniques such as felting, weaving, hand dyeing and silk painting. Vintage linens and fabrics re-stitched into unique gifts and accessories may be found at my second Folksy shop 'LynwoodcraftsRecycled' where you will also find vintage sewing supplies including vintage lace.
Cheerful daisies, together with clover, yarrow and 'dead nettles', are liberally sprinkled throughout the meadow grasses of this hand-stitched art work.
Sky blue wool fibers have been felted to a background of 'eco' felt (produced from recycled plastic bottles) using an embellisher machine. A wide variety of yarn snippets, carefully collected from other yarn projects, have been added to represent the meadow grasses. Stitching in fine cotton has been added to the sky and meadows to 'stabilise' the felting. Daisies, yarrow, dead nettles and clover have been hand-stitched in a variety of threads.
The back of the piece is neatened by a second piece of felt. A loop of crochet cotton is securely stitched in place to hang the design.
Height: 21.5 cm approx.
Width: 14 cm approx.
Please note this wall hanging may not be washed.
This 'Meadow' hanging may be hung as a 'pair' with a 'Harvest' hanging listed separately:
