The stone itself was the inspiration for this piece; the webbing and detail allows for the stone to be center stage. It is bold and delicate at the same time.

The design was a fluent inspirational work; often when i pick up a stone it is impossible to know what the end piece will look like. it may mean that it will start off as a simple design and it evolves along the way. Sometimes i create something then just to cut it all up and start again. Often something that starts off as simple; requires additional twists and turns for the final piece to emerge.

Wire wrapping makes each piece individual; i do not use templates cast to create the pieces; they evolve organically through the process. Each piece takes a number of hours to complete; whilst each wrap is done by hand..
