After a few false starts I learned to stitch around rivolis from the excellent tutorial from Deborah Roberti at ‘Around the Beading Table’. Once this was mastered it was just a case of being creative and adding embellishments. I love this starburst effect and have tried it with several different colours.

Full description
This sparkly little pendant is just over an inch in diameter. So it is ideal for anyone who doesn’t like big pieces of jewellery. The pretty starburst effect has been achieved by stitching 35 tiny Swarovski bicone crystals around a matching pretty Swarovski rivoli. Each crystal has an AB coating, meaning that one side of each bicone has been covered with a thin metallic coating. This gives the crystals a lovely iridescent shimmer. The crystals are stitched in two layers. The inner layer, the one nearest the central rivoli, is made up of mauve (the colour is called tanzanite) 3mm crystals, whilst the outer layer is a ring of 4mm emerald green crystals. The rivoli makes a striking centerpiece as its pointed shape, front and back gives it depths in which both the mauve and green are reflected. Between the abovementioned crystals are little silver-lined seed beads for yet more sparkle. The piece is strung on a 45cms (18 inch) silver plated chain with a bolt ring clasp. This could be exchanged for a longer or shorter chain, although there may be a small extra cost, depending on the length you require, and if I do not have the length you require in stock, this could delay me sending you the piece for a few days. Therefore, to avoid disappointment, if you would like a different chain please contact me before purchasing so that we can discuss cost and timescale.
The pendant is 3cms (1.2ins) in diameter. It will be sent wrapped in acid-free tissue and in a sturdy cardboard box.
