Please enjoy browsing and should you buy a doll she will be packaged in an organza bag. I have been given literally hundreds and will use them until they run out rather than let them go to landfill. Also I have been asked why I don't often repeat combinations of fabric with the dolls. It is because I tend to buy remnant stock where I can, tiny pieces of fabric that are too small for most people to use. So often I have only enough to make one doll. Her name is Marigold as the local name for Goldcrests is Marigold Finches, they are also known as Woodcock Pilots and I have no idea why!
She is dressed in a Liberty Lawn called A Garden Trail from the 2016 Collection A Garden of Dreams inspirded by Robert Louis Stevenson's book ‘A Child’s Garden of Verses’.

Full description
This is Marigold, she is a hand embroidered Goldcrest rag doll. I use no paint to delineate the pattern but work freehand embroidery onto self colour cloth to make the plumage both on the front and the back of the doll. Marigold is dressed in a pretty olive green patterned cotton lawn from Liberty called Garden Trail with coordinating silk underskirt and knickers with a final lace underskirt to finish. She has stripy legs and little leather shoes. Her dress is finished with buttons and ribbon and she carries a little lavender sachet that is also embroidered. She has a little brass ring to her back so she can hang.
She stands just eight inches tall, a little smaller than her sister birds as Goldcrests are the UK's smallest bird I reduced her pattern by ten percent.
She is, as are all my girls, warm and companiable with a touch of English whimsy. I hope she makes you smile.
