Full description

This bird measures 28mm, beak to tail, 24mm wingtip to wingtip. It ismounted on a 20mm brooch bar, soldered to the copper base. The bar secures with a rolling catch.

I have laid in a coat of turquoise enamel over a base layer of clear enamel built up on the copper base. In places the copper base shows through the turquoise in tones of golden brown. Over the turquoise I have set rods of white, orange and blue enamel through which I have drawn a steel tip while the shape was red hot, to create the swirled pattern on the bird.
