I love making my decoupage boxes, decoupage is an artistic sleight of hand, what appears at first to be a painting is in fact paper glued in place.

A little gift box perfect for small presents.
The box is made out of papier mache, light but surprisingly strong. I have painted the box a pale green on the outside, lightly distressed and sealed with PVA glue to provide protection. The rims of the box are hand finished with gold acrylic paint and I have lined the inside base with pink polka dot paper. The inside of the box is painted grey and sealed as well.
The butterfly has been decoupaged onto the lid of the box and sealed.
Size matters...the box is 8.5 cm at its widest point of the heart and 4cm deep.
A gift box that will be a keeper.
