Formerly 'Buttons, Beads and Blanket Stitch'.
My work predominantly comprises hand cut and burnished lino prints, with sewing playing an occasional part.
Whether working in print or in stitch, I am inspired by the natural world and the people around me, with words/text frequently playing an integral part.

Full description
This lovely embroidery has been hand-stitched to my own design onto natural calico.
The piece features a little house made from cotton fabric and felt pieces in autumnal shades, surrounded by the message 'There's no place like home', stitched in green. The image is embellished with details including sequins, beads, stitched flowers and french knots.
It is framed in a 5'' wooden embroidery hoop, backed with cream felt, with a green velvet hanging ribbon attached.
