Surrounded with plants can be calming and cleansing. This beautiful and rustic indoor planter is the perfect way to display cacti, succulents, air plants or kitchen herbs. Decorated in an oceanic glossy glaze with undulating waves of blues and greys.

This ceramic hanging planter was hand-thrown in stoneware clay. The bowl shape was created by pulling up the walls of the clay whilst the wheel is rotating at 300rpm. The planter was cut off the wheel and put to one side to dry out slightly before it was put back on the wheel, upside down, and the base turned to create the rounded shape. The holes for the twine and my potter's mark were then added. After it completely dried out it was biscuit fired in my kiln for 12 hours. It was dip glazed on the outside with a matte pale turquoise glaze which has a delicate crackle effect. The inside inside and rim is left raw (unglazed) which aids with keeping roots out of standing water. Finally the planter was put back in the kiln for a 10 hour firing which reached temperatures of 1200 degrees centigrade. This planter comes with 44cm of rustic 3 ply jute hanging twine.
Sold without plant: as plants don't fair well in the post, you'll need to pop your own plant in.
