The colours of these mugs bring back memories of walking in the hils when the bracken has changed colour to the magificient oranges and reds. The sun is catching the hillsides making them glow warm and all around smells sweet and earthy.
I wanted to design a set of contemporary mugs and bowls that would look beautiful and interesting on the table at every mealtime. One that told the origin of how and where they were made
The clay these mugs were made from was dug up from our own island. The spiral handle shows the energy of our lives and the ancient physics of the potters wheel. The glazes reflect the colours that we see in our surrounding lowland pastures and mountains, the rivers, lakes and seas as the seasons change.
++++Each mug is hand thrown and hand glazed and then left to the will of the kiln doing it's magic. As a result each one is slightly different and unique. You would recieve a mug very similiar to the ones in the photos.++++
