This unicorn wooden plaque is made using a combination of hand painting and stamping. I created the background using inks in shades of lilac, purple and blues with mica in which gives a beautiful subtle glitter not really visible in the pictures.
The unicorn and sentiment 'sometimes we need a little magic' are stamped and embossed in white and the foliage around the edge is a combination of white and silver paint blended into the background to look more mystical.
Finally I added a few little stars around the unicorn and silver gilding wax around the edge. The whole thing has two coats of varnish to protect it.
The piece is hung by matching lilac and blue ribbons. It is 10cm x 16cm (4"x6.5") and the back is plain blue.
