Full description
This delightful little bowl was thrown on the wheel and when leather hard, the surface was carved using a custom made tool. The foot ring has also been sculpted by hand, making this a lovely piece to hold and feel. The experimental glaze used a commercial stain to achieve the unusual shades of orange brown and pink.
The bowl measures approx. 2.75 inches in height and about the same in width across the middle. Mark Smalley's personal symbol is impressed to the foot ring. The piece will hold liquid but I am selling it as an ornamental bowl as I have been unable to establish whether the commercial stain used is 100% food safe.
