Inspiration for my work comes from the idea of finding beauty in the function of simple pots. Most of us use ceramics everyday, especially in the kitchen. Taking time to drink tea from your favourite mug, or eat soup from an honest bowl can be a simple, background pleasure in life.
I throw all my pots by hand on a pottery wheel, and enjoy throwing as many elements as possible: even lids and knobs. Most of my pottery is made using stoneware clay. Stoneware has a firm texture which I feel best reflects a rustic influence and the plain style of my pottery.
Most of all I hope people enjoy using my pots.

Full description
This lovely modern-style cylinder bowl has been hand thrown in speckled stoneware clay. A beautiful simple design, this bowl is perfect for displaying fruit or as a platter for serving salads and other dishes.
The inside of the bowl has been glazed in a clear ecru glaze while the outside and base of the pot has been left un-glazed to show the natural speckle in the clay.
Measurements approx:
23cm across (9 inches)
5cm high (2 inches)
The glaze is food safe and dishwasher safe - although I recommend hand washing larger pots. This pot is unsuitable for traditional ovens, hobs or microwaves. Avoid areas of bare clay if using foods that stain.
This is a listing for one large cylinder bowl only. Other props shown in photos are not included.
Please note that variations in shape and glazing surface are a nature of handmade ceramics. The pot pictured is the pot you will receive.
