I’m back on Folksy for 2024.

Looking for functional items that I can hand build and for different ways of glazing. I love the process of slip decoration and the sgraffito technique where you incise a pattern through the coloured slip-very satisfying a long as it all goes to plan!
The use of this particular glaze has given the bowl a muted colour pallet and a dryer feel on the outside of the piece.

Full description

A hand built ceramic bowl which is suitable for serving small snacks such as olives antipasti, and nuts to name a few.

I have used a pale blue slip on the outside which has then decorated with Sgraffito decoration, this bowl has a grid inspired pattern. I have used a matt glaze which has created a varied colour on the outside. It is suitable for food and can be hand washed.

The dimensions are; 8cm diameter by 4cm high.

Pictured with local red currents as my kitchen cupboard was bereft of the usual temptations!
