Full description
This is a unique original watercolour painting of a lionfish with its frills and spines, its stripes and spots, swimming like a dancer with full skirts flouncing round it. The spotted and striped brown and white patterns show up dramatically against a deep purple and blue background echoing the warm blue tropical waters where the lionfish lives. But all this beauty is a show, warning that those spines contain deadly venom and the lion fish should be admired from a distance - perhaps ideally in the form of this eye-catching work of art which would make a splash of colour in any room.
Using artist-quality paints on heavy weight paper for a high-quality professional finish, the picture is presented in an off-white / pale cream colour mount, with a backing board and protected in a clear cellophane bag. Measuring (with mount) 40cm square (image size 25cm square) - that’s approximately 16” (9.5”) - it will fit a readily-available standard-size frame.
