I mix elements of traditional and contemporary design within my ceramics to create items with a classic feel and a modern twist. I hope that this will make my pottery stand the test of time so that the objects I make can be used and enjoyed year after year. I fire to stoneware temperature so that all my objects are durable, even though they might look delicate and fragile. These have been really popular as wedding, engagement and anniversary gifts, and it makes me smile to think that they'll remind the recipients of their special day for years to come!

Full description
I call these two bird shaped ceramic bowls the Birds of a Feather Bowl Duo, because they belong together!
I love the texture and pattern on the surface of these little birds. I pressed vintage lace into the clay whilst it was still soft, and this has created very intricate pattern which I emphasized by adding turquoise green glaze to the surface.
The underside is unglazed with a little fabric texture.
There are many uses for the little birds. They've been really popular as wedding, anniversary and engagement gifts and even as contemporary versions of the ring bearer pillow on wedding days. Whether or not you're getting married, they're a great place to keep jewellery safe. Keep them by your bed to keep rings and earrings safe, use them as a little soap dishes or put little candles in them at night.
The colour and texture inside are so pretty you might decide to keep them empty for decoration.
Each measures approx 3.5 x 4 inches and is 1.25 inches tall.

These were intended for decorative use, but they are completely food and dishwasher safe, so if you'd like to use them to serve a little cupcake or treat then they'll be fine!
