Welcome to my Folksy shop in which you will find a variety of hand-stitched accessories for you and your home, many of which make lovely (and easy-to-post) gifts. I stitch in a variety of styles, combining traditional embroidery with other textile techniques such as felting, weaving, hand dyeing and silk painting. Vintage linens and fabrics re-stitched into unique gifts and accessories may be found at my second Folksy shop 'LynwoodcraftsRecycled' where you will also find vintage sewing supplies including vintage lace.
Embroidered in wools, on a pure wool, knitted base, this blossom was stitched in my garden, whilst sitting next to the tree which inspired it.
A large brooch, suitable for a chunky jacket or, perhaps, a bag. The base of this brooch has been knitted, in moss stitch, using a chunky pure wool in lovely shades of apple-y green. The needles used were finer than normal for this thickness of yarn, giving a close texture and some rigidity. The blossom has been embroidered, in a mixture of tapestry and crewel wools, using blanket stitch, straight stitch and French knots.
The back of the brooch is neatened with felt and a brooch pin is securely stitched in place.
