Full description
A clump of snowdrops nestled against a hand - felted background, forms the design for this delicate brooch.
The distant flowers and leaves are embroidered using fine embroidery thread. As the layers of the design are worked, the threads become a little thicker and the flowers slightly larger, to give depth to the design. The leaves in the foreground are worked in silk ribbon.
The background is hand felted from merino, mohair and silk fibres in shades of green and gold. The brooch is stiffened by plastic cut from recycled bottle. Couched wool, in pale gray, frames the design. The back of the brooch is neatened with felt. A brooch pin is securely stitched in place.
