Custom requests are always welcome. If you would like a different colour, a personalised piece or have an idea for something unique, please send me a message and we can chat about what might be possible.
Custom pieces are made to order and may take up to 14 days to dispatch. Ready made items are usually dispatched within three working days.
Every order is wrapped in tissue paper and carefully packaged using reused materials wherever possible. Parcels are sent via Royal Mail Tracked 48 so you can follow their journey.
As every piece is handmade, small variations are part of what makes each one unique. Colours may also vary slightly between screens, although I take my listing photos to represent each piece as accurately as possible.
If you have any questions at all, I am always happy to help.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
Full description
This large handmade Highland cow wall plaque is suitable for displaying outdoors in the garden or indoors in your home. She has a shaggy brown coat, curved horns, two yellow sunflowers tucked into her hair and a red rose held in her mouth, creating a colourful piece of Highland cow wall art with plenty of character.
The detailed, textured coat is hand painted in different shades of brown, with colour washes and dry-brushed highlights used to bring out the depth and individual strands of the sculpted fur. The sunflowers, rose and leaves are painted in the same way, building up colour, shading and highlights to pick out their raised details.
I make the plaque from a natural, water-based mineral material with a hard, stone-like finish. Once made, I hand paint the entire piece with acrylic paints, so several hours of painting and finishing go into each plaque.
To protect the finished paintwork outdoors, the plaque is sealed with three coats of satin varnish with UV protection.
A metal hanging loop is fitted to the back. This is a substantial piece weighing approximately 3.5 kg, so it needs to be hung securely using a fixing suitable for both its weight and the wall or surface it is attached to.
The plaque measures approximately 30 cm wide by 30 cm high and is approximately 11 cm deep at its deepest point.
As each plaque is individually handmade and hand painted, small variations and minor surface imperfections can be part of its handmade character.
