Full description
Handmade fused glass 'Forest Mushrooms'.
Beautifully rich Autumnal colour scheme, full of copper, orange, gold, and brown tones. Very gentle on the eye.
This picture was created by sandwiching a disc of copper metal between two sheets of fusing glass. In the kiln the disc of copper reacts to the heat and creates a mottled bubble effect (gives a very atmospheric Moon.
The Mushroom and foliage were created by using glass frit, glassline, chips of wispy glass, and dichroic glass flakes.
Once complete the picture was fired in my kiln at a temperature of 750oC. This takes 12 hours and allows the different glasses to gently melt and merge together.
Frame measures: 20cm width x 32.5cm height x 2cm depth.
Glass picture measures: 13cm width x 26cm height x 7mm depth.
There is a hook on the reverse for hanging.
