Original Linocut Print, image is 10cm x 15cm, printed like a postcard i.e. the paper is the same size.
It came from a drawing I made of Pendlebury Hall, on Dodge Hill, an old & very interesting part of Stockport, now cut off from the centre by the M67. It was built as an orphanage, by a wealthy Victorian philanthropist.
I drew it standing in the rocky, wooded gorge below the back of the building. I like the dramatic atmosphere and enjoy recreating a sense of drama and mystery in my images. This one is even more "Gothic" than usual.
The print is in an open edition, i.e. not numbered. It will be marked, in pencil, on the back, with: A/P (artist's proof), titled "Home on the Hill" and signed JF Edwards.
