Full description
A study of light.
There is depth in this palette, but the first idea was to let yellow dominate the space. This artwork is inspired by the heavy, bright blooms of Bodnant Garden, especially its famous arch and spring daffodils. The goal was to create a visually striking piece that brings a permanent sense of sunshine indoors.
I have always loved geometric forms. For my Mondrian collection, my challenge is to take soft, organic material and fit it into a perfect, structured grid. The touches of dark purple act as a strong contrast. They give structure to the artwork and make the bright yellow vibrate through the strict gold lines.
Size: 16x25 cm artwork in a 32x42 cm deep box frame.
Materials: Dried petals (roses, larkspur, carnations, dahlias, gerberas and daisies), birch wood, gold leaf, and eco-label acrylic paint.
Glass: I frame my work with AR 92 anti-reflective glass. This museum-quality glass protects the real petals from UV light. It is also invisible, meaning you can see every delicate detail without any glare from your windows.
Natural Evolution: This is a living piece. The organic petals will change color slowly over time. This is the beauty of nature meeting geometry.
Date: May 2026.
