Full description
I made the Isabella piece to bring a warm and natural feeling to your home. It is the second artwork in my Mondrian collection.
Moving to London changed my art. The English gardens are very structured and always alive. It is a beautiful change from the long, sleeping winters I know from Canada.
I named this piece after the beautiful Isabella Plantation in Richmond Park. I carefully arranged real petals from gerberas, carnations, roses, daisies, lilies, and amaranth. The rich purple and pink colours are separated by soft gold lines. It is a lovely mix between the comfort of nature and modern design.
Size: 16x25 cm artwork in a 32x42 cm deep box frame.
Materials: Dried petals (Gerbera, Carnation, Rose, Daisy, Lily, Amaranth), birch wood, gold leaf, and eco-label acrylic paint.
Glass: I used AR 92 anti-reflective glass. It is also museum-quality and invisible, so you can see the contrast between the soft petals and the shiny gold lines perfectly.
Natural Evolution: This is a living piece. The organic petals will change color slowly over time, while the gold grid remains perfect. This is the beauty of nature meeting geometry.
