Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass.
Sometimes tiny gas bubbles, mineral crystals and rock debris are trapped within the lava as it cools, and these cause reflecting light to give a metallic sheen,
This sheen gives 'gold-sheen', 'silver-sheen' or 'rainbow' obsidian.

Full description
Each earring, from base to top, is made from beads of 6mm gold-sheen obsidian, 4mm golden hematite, 5mm oval hematite, Austrian crystal bicone in the colour 'topaz', 4mm hematite, Austrian crystal bicone in the colour 'light topaz' and a 3mm hematite barrel.
Obsidian is a form of volcanic glass, and these ones contain tiny air bubbles which reflect light giving a golden sheen within the stone.
The beads are hung from gold vermeil ear-wires.
Gold vermeil is sterling silver that has been plated with gold, and the wires are stamped '925'.
Hand made in my home workshop here in beautiful Devon in the UK, these would make a beautiful gift for Christmas, a birthday, anniversary, Mother's day or as a well deserved treat for yourself.
These drop earrings measure approximately 1.5 inches (3.5cm) excluding the wire.
Your earrings will be wrapped in tissue and presented in an organza gift bag.
