Next in-person wool show:
Spring Into Wool - Leeds - 11&12 April 2026
Dyeing my own fibre was always going to be the next step in my fibre arts practice! I love being able to create my own colours and not be constrained by what is available to purchase, and I want to share these hand-dyed goodies with you!
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
Dyed wool roving, often referred to as a braid, is a brilliant addition to your spinning stash. It offers a totally unique colour distribution compared to an art batt and can be split down lengthways and spun in a particular fashion to make a 'fractal' yarn.
These are my very first attempts at dyeing wool tops. I'm happy that the professional acid dye is exhausting and that the water is running clear, the texture feels good and all test spins I have done have drafted easily however they aren't perfect so I'm offering them at a discounted rate until I'm satisfied with all aspects of the process. Please do get in touch with your feedback, I would love to hear how you got on spinning them!
I have used lengths of natural fibre from a large quantity of lap waste for my practice, hence being unable to identify with certainty the fibre content, another reason for a slightly discounted price. It is unlikely to be superwash, but I can't guarantee!
Fibre weighs: 100g
Colourway name: Peachy
Suitable for wet felting, needle felting and spinning. Perfect for art yarn!
Fibre sourced from reputable UK suppliers, from non mulesed flocks.
Listing is for one length of fibre only. I have tried to represent the colours as accurately as possible, however all screens display differently. Please contact me if you have any colour queries and I will do my best to help.
