These hedgehog designs were chosen for their joyful, slightly mischievous energy—classic Penny Black storytelling in miniature. The idea of pairing them on one sheet came from wanting to offer something versatile for makers: two cheerful scenes that can be used together or separately, depending on the project.
Hand‑painting the illustrations brings out the warmth and personality of the characters, while the unpainted option invites others to enjoy the creative process too. The aim was to create something that feels fun, uplifting, and ready to become part of someone else’s handmade card, journal page, or thoughtful gift.

This listing is for an A5 sheet featuring two Penny Black stamp illustrations, each hand watercoloured on thick, high quality watercolour paper.
The page includes:
1. A hedgehog delivering a cake while riding atop a very patient snail
2. A hedgehog carrying an enormous cupcake with a candle glowing at the top
Both illustrations are painted individually, giving each one its own character and tiny variations. The paper is firm enough for crafting and can be cut, trimmed, mounted, layered, or framed.
