This piece was born from a fascination with the visual language of the 1980s computer age. Before high-definition screens, artists had to use a technique called 'dithering'—arranging tiny dots and dashes to trick the eye into seeing shadows and gradients. I wanted to take that cold, digital logic and translate it into something deeply human and tactile.
By replacing software with a pen, I’ve recreated that pixelated nostalgia one dash at a time. The result is a portrait that feels like it’s being pulled from a vintage monitor into the real world.

A nostalgic fusion of 80s digital aesthetics and traditional fine liner art.
This original pen-on-paper drawing captures a pair of piercing green eyes using a unique "dithered" technique. Inspired by the limited graphical capabilities of 1980s computer games, the image is built entirely from a meticulous series of hand-drawn dashes, crosses, and hatches.
