A bold miniature piece of folk-inspired botanical art, carefully spray painted and laser engraved in my studio.
This 7.5cm square canvas features my original thistle design, inspired by traditional folk illustration and vintage woodcut printmaking. The strong silhouette and detailed texture of the thistle head give it a striking, timeless presence.
Each canvas is first spray painted in a rich blue tone. The design is then laser engraved into the surface, revealing the natural canvas beneath and creating beautiful contrast and tactile texture reminiscent of relief printing.
