Mindfully made in my small Lincolnshire studio, this piece is created slowly and intentionally, with attention to detail and a deep appreciation for the quiet beauty of botanical forms.
This iris was inspired by the warm glow of a summer sunset—the way orange and gold tones soften into one another as the day fades. I wanted to capture that fleeting warmth in glass: the richness, the stillness, and the sense of gentle transition that irises often symbolise.
The combination of burnished orange and translucent amber glass mirrors the layered texture of real petals, while the Van Gogh glass adds a spark of brightness at the centre. It’s a piece made to bring a moment of calm, colour, and quiet joy into a window or favourite corner of the home.
Safety information
This item is glass and therefore breakable. Please handle with care and secure the item to a fixed point. All edges have been ground to remove sharpness. Consider how you display the glass and that it is in a safe location away from wagging dog tails or small hands! Lead solder has been used but this is very low risk. However, I always wash my hands after handling to reduce the risk to zero.

Full description
A single stained glass iris crafted in burnished sunset tones, with the main petals cut from a semi opaque deep orange glass that glows like late evening light. The secondary petals are made from translucent orange brown glass, adding warmth and gentle movement. A small piece of gold Van Gogh glass forms the beard, catching the light with a textured shimmer.
This particular piece has a slight loss of pigment in the main glass, so the price has been thoughtfully reduced. The colour variation does not affect its strength or structure, and it still displays beautifully when lit from behind.
The iris measures approximately 17cm tall by 11cm wide. Two hanging loops are soldered to the reverse, and it is recommended that both are used for secure display.
Each element is hand cut and shaped using the traditional Tiffany copper foil method. Every piece of glass is wrapped, soldered, cleaned, and polished by hand. Craft glass naturally carries tiny variations, swirls, and textures, making every iris completely unique. Photographs are taken in natural light to show the colours as faithfully as possible.
