This fairy began with the idea of colour in motion—like petals swirling in a breeze or ink blooming across paper. The splodgy, overlapping wings were chosen to capture that sense of spontaneity and joy, where no two patches of colour are quite the same. The purple body grounds her in a deeper, more mystical tone, giving her the feel of a fairy who dances between dusk and dawn.
She belongs to the more vibrant side of the fairy world—the ones who leave trails of colour behind them, who hide in flowerbeds, and who shimmer brightest when the sun is low. The Tiffany technique allowed her wings to keep their organic, painterly shapes, preserving the softness and movement that inspired her.
Safety information
This item is glass and therefore breakable. Please handle with care and secure the item to a fixed point. All edges have been ground to remove sharpness. Consider how you display the glass and that it is in a safe location away from wagging dog tails or small hands! Lead solder has been used but this is very low risk. However, I always wash my hands after handling to reduce the risk to zero.

Full description
This stained glass flutterby fairy is a tiny burst of colour and light. Her body is made from rich purple glass, glowing warmly when the sun touches it. Her wings are crafted from multicoloured purple, pink, and white glass, where the colours overlap in soft, splodgy patterns; almost like watercolour pigments drifting into one another. Every shift of daylight reveals a new blend of tones, giving her wings a lively, everchanging character.
The fairy could be a Christmas tree ornament or an all-year-round suncatcher - light catches the wings beautifully. On warm, dry days you could hang the fairy in a tree - we like to do this when we have younger visitors and am always delighted when they want to go in search of them.
Each piece has been hand cut, foiled, and soldered using the Tiffany copper foil technique, allowing for fine curves and delicate outlines. She looks beautiful in a bright window, where her colours bloom, or in a quieter corner where she brings a gentle, magical presence. She makes a thoughtful gift for fairy lovers, colour enthusiasts, or anyone who enjoys handmade pieces that feel playful and full of life.
The finished item, with hook, measures approximately 9 cm high by 7.5 cm wide.
