This fairy began with the idea of a creature shaped from sky and frost—something that feels like a breath of winter air drifting through a woodland clearing. The gluechip wings were chosen for their natural, crystalline patterns, echoing the look of feathers touched by frost or butterfly wings caught in moonlight. The wispy blue body came from the colours of early dawn: cool, calm, and full of promise.
She belongs to the quieter side of the fairy world—the ones who move softly, speak in breezes, and shimmer only when the light catches them just right. The Tiffany technique allowed me to give her wings a fine, delicate outline, keeping her light and airy, as though she might flutter away at any moment.
Safety information
This item is glass and therefore breakable. Please handle with care and secure the item to a fixed point. All edges have been ground to remove sharpness. Consider how you display the glass and that it is in a safe location away from wagging dog tails or small hands! Lead solder has been used but this is very low risk. However, I always wash my hands after handling to reduce the risk to zero.

Full description
This stained glass flutterby fairy carries the soft hush of twilight. Her body is made from wispy blue glass, shifting gently between pale sky tones and deeper pools of colour as the light moves through her. Her wings are crafted from blue gluechip glass, a textured surface that scatters light into delicate frosty patterns; like wings dusted with morning ice.
Hand cut, foiled, and soldered using the Tiffany copper foil technique, she has a graceful, floating presence. Hang her in a bright window and she glimmers with cool, calming light. The fairy could be a Christmas tree ornament or an all year round suncatcher; light catches the wings beautifully. On warm, dry days you could hang the fairy in a tree; we like to do this when we have younger visitors and am always delighted when they want to go in search of them.
This could be a thoughtful gift for fairy lovers, collectors of handmade magic, or anyone who finds comfort in soft blues and gentle light.
The finished item, with hook, measures approximately 9 cm high by 7.5 cm wide.
