I had some time free after Christmas so picked up the tools again in my workshop. I ended up getting hooked on making items for the home - mainly lamps. This is the first one finished, that my wife didn't snap up! Lots more to follow!

Full description
A vision in bare metal! This lamp has a motorcycle theme - but only because I think the components really work together. It incorporates Steel, Aluminium and Stainless Steel in its construction. A modified clutch basket is now the base, Stainless steel tubes are connected with large fuel banjo fittings (I've had these in my stash for a few years now - and I think I've found the perfect home for them) and 12 individual pieces of aluminium were worked on the lathe to bring it all together.
It is articulated and the carburettor bell mouth works a treat as a bulb holder. At its highest extension it measures 60cm.
Works great as a reading lamp, or (directed against a wall) as warm mood lighting.
It comes with a bonus Stainless Steel ball point pen that rests in the centre of the base (see last photo). Who doesn't love a handy pen?
Navy blue braided cable adds a touch of colour to the metallic hues. Cork is affixed to the base to protect your surfaces. All electrics (switch, cable, plug, bulb, bulb holder) are new and the correct fuse is fitted.
Many hours of graft (though satisfying) have gone into this piece. It will be packed very well.
