This little rainbow flower began as a way to give new life to things that usually end up in the bin. I started crocheting petals around plastic bottle-cap rings to see how far I could push my recycling ideas, and I used leftover waxed cotton from past projects to keep waste to a minimum. When a close LGBT friend asked for a bright, joyful bag charm, this rainbow version came to life — bold colours, a hand-dyed wooden bead, and a cheerful flower shape that feels like spring and summer in one small piece. Each keychain is a tiny celebration of colour, craft, and creative reuse.

A cheerful rainbow flower keychain made with waxed cotton petals crocheted around a recycled plastic bottle-cap ring using a Tunisian crochet-inspired technique. The centre features a 3cm wooden bead that I hand-dyed and varnished, giving each piece its own character.
