A stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique. Designed not to hang in the window but as a freestanding piece of glass art on a wooden oak stand.
The sail is cut from a mix of rainbow coloured glass, each piece different. It has a bright red flag. The boat is streaky brown and the sea a textured, wavy teal colour.
It fits onto an oak wood stand and is held securely in place with two chrome clamps which are tightened into postion with plastic screws at the back.
The sailboat measure 17 x14 cm and the stand 10 x 7 x 2 cm.
It is gloriously bright and cheerful and will be a focal point for any room whether postiioned on a table or window sill.
My pieces are all unique. I use different shades and textures of glass to ensure that everything I make, even when to the same pattern, is different.
I post this out with the sailboat off the stand for ease and safety of packing but it is a very simple operation to slot the base into the two clamps and tighten them from the back with a screwdriver,
