Full description
Dorset Calling is a panoramic oil painting of a glimpse of the Dorset coastline seen through blossom and brambles. It is 48x24x1.5 inches. The painting was inspired by a trip to Dorset in April 2025 and captures my enthusiasm on being there for the first time. The brambles were in flower and I like the poetry of seeing the enticing blue sea, coastline and countryside through their tangled barrier. A lone seagull can be seen and there is a hint of farmland and cliff edge and springtime flowers. It was painted in thick jubilant brush strokes and relies heavily on memory in order to better capture the feeling of joy I experienced there. Painted on deep edge canvas, painted to match, ready to hang.
