This tote bag was made using the last few metres of Fabric Freedom Butterfly Print Melody fabric from a much loved local sewing fabric shop that has now closed down. Rather than see this beautiful fabric disappear or sit unused, it was carefully turned into a small, limited collection of assorted handmade bags.
Each piece was thoughtfully planned to make the most of the remaining fabric, meaning no two bags are ever quite the same. This tote is part of that final run, created to celebrate both the quality of the fabric and the creativity that thrives in local, independent sewing communities.
Hand cut, lightly padded, and fully lined, this bag reflects a slower, more considered approach to making, preserving a little piece of local sewing history in a practical, everyday item.
Once these bags are gone, there will be no more made from this fabric.

This beautifully made padded tote bag is crafted from vibrant Fabric Freedom Butterfly Print Melody fabric, featuring warm mango tones of orange and yellow.
Lightly padded for structure, the padding provides protection and insulation, making it ideal for everyday use.
The outer fabric is 100% cotton, 150gsm, soft yet durable, with a bold butterfly design.
Inside, the bag is fully lined with smooth orange satin, approximately 100gsm, giving a striking contrast and a practical, wipe friendly interior.
Finished with cream cotton webbing handles, this tote is comfortable to carry by hand or over the shoulder.
Carefully handmade by my wife, it is a unique piece rather than mass produced.
