Hello, and welcome to my Folksy shop.
I’m a retired upholsterer and upcycler, now crafting and selling for pleasure from my base between Dartmoor and Exmoor. After many years working with interiors, fabrics and furniture, I’ve found myself with a lifetime’s worth of beautiful materials and far more creativity than time to use it all, so my shop is about giving those materials a new life.
I genuinely hate waste. Over the years I’ve rescued items from charity shops, local auction houses, scrap yards and recycling centres, always seeing potential where others might not. In fact, most of the fabrics in my shop were originally purchased through my local auction house, saved from being forgotten or discarded, and carefully stored for future making.
I sell a thoughtfully curated mix of quality surplus fabrics, handmade bags and craft items, and the occasional upcycled or rescued piece that simply deserves another chance. The fabrics are unused leftovers from my professional career, sold by the metre so they can be enjoyed by other makers, sewers and creatives. Alongside these, I make small batches of handmade items using traditional skills, slow stitching, and a practical eye for everyday use.
Upcycling has always been at the heart of what I do. I love transforming overlooked materials into something useful and lovely, whether that’s fabric finding a new home, a handmade piece stitched with care, or a yard find given a second life. Nothing here is mass produced, and many items are one offs.
Now retired, I work at my own pace, choosing projects that bring me joy and passing on materials I know I’ll never have time to use. My shop is part clearance, part creative outlet, and part quiet rebellion against throwaway culture.
Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you find something that sparks an idea or feels just right for your next project.
