Full description
This is an irregular roundish concave silver pendant. It has a polished back but the dish shaped front is textured. This is a texture that I love making and is popular, but how is it made? Not with hammer.
This is made from precious metal clay, when it is in the clay form I take a poppy seed head and press the top repeatedly into the silver clay. Each time I do this the texture will be different and as these are irregular in shape each necklace is unique (I never try to repeat the shapes).
These are left to dry and then torch fired, this process burns off the binders and the silver molecules bind together creating a piece of solid silver. (The pieces are under hall mark weight to not hall marked). I then polish up the back and higher surface of the textured area so texture shows well.
It is on an 18inch recycled sterling silver chain. Pendant is approximately 1.5cm wide and 1.8cm long
