Full description
This is a three layer reduction Lino print of the Prayer Plant or Calathea Makoyana. This print was inspired by own plant, as one day I noticed that the sun was catching the leaves in such a way that there was a golden shimmer to them. This then led to a drawing that showed both the top and underside of the leaves and the little flower they have. The carving of all the darker green lines on the leaves did take a fair bit of time and patience. The gold ink catches the light beautifully.
This is a reduction print so I have created the whole print using one Lino block, carving more away for each layer. This method means there is no going back and it cannot be reprinted, there are a total of 12 prints in this edition. This took three layers to make the print with four colours. Printed on Somerset Satin paper with Cranfield relief inks. Each is numbered and signed.
Paper measure approximately 22cm square with image approximately 15cm on each side of the square. This is a handprinted item so some variation in ink transfer can occur. Supplied unmounted but well packaged.
